Bangladesh Centre for Ocean Law and Policy - BCOLP is pleased to invite you to the very first episode of its Inaugural Webinar Series. The first session’s title is “Beyond Boundaries: Collaborative Ocean Governance in the Bay of Bengal”.
We are delighted to share that Ms Arpita Goswami Sachdeva, Research Fellow, Max Planck Institute, Luxembourg, and PhD candidate, University of Luxembourg, has kindly agreed to be the speaker for the first episode. Ms Sachdeva has extensive experience in the law of the sea and maritime boundary delimitation. She has previously worked in the Indian Society of International Law (as a member of the research team of the Bangladesh/India Arbitration Case 2014), South China Sea Institute (as a Graduate Research Assistant), the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (as an intern) and the International Law Commission (as a Legal Assistant). She attended Dr RML National Law University (India), Xiamen University (China), and Graduate Institute, Geneva (Switzerland). Ms Sachdeva’s research interests also include procedures of international courts and tribunals, state immunity, sovereign debt, and the law and politics of state building. She speaks Hindi, English, French and Chinese.
Dr Abdullah Al Arif, JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow at Yokohama City University (Japan) and BCOLP’s Founding Director, will give a brief introductory speech. Mr Quazi Omar Foysal, LLM Candidate, Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) and Lecturer (on Study Leave), American International University-Bangladesh, will moderate the session.
The webinar will take place on 30 July 2022 at 22:00 Hours Dhaka Time, 21:30 (21:30 Hours Indian Standard Time and 18:00 Hours Central European Summar Time).
